Basic Functions

Responsible for providing nursing care to patients in a professional and courteous manner. Performs a wide variety of patient care activities and accommodative services for patients under the direction of the manager/provider. Works regularly with information which is restricted to specific persons. Discretion and integrity are recognized requirements for the job. Responsible for high degree of accuracy and control of details. Moderate physical activity, clerical and/or light physical work. Involves occasional lifting (15lbs), considerable walking, some bending, stooping and squatting.

Qualifications
  • Current South Carolina license as a Licensed Practical Nurse.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to perform multiple tasks in a pressured environment.
  • Ability to adapt and apply skills across varied practice environments.
  • Basic first aid knowledge.
  • Current CPR certification.
  • 1+ year of LPN experience in a physician practice/outpatient setting preferred.
  • Ability to effectively use EMR software preferred.

Medical Laboratory Technician I — Physician Network

Basic Functions

The Medical Laboratory Technician provides laboratory services for the consumers of healthcare within the physician network. The MLT ensures excellent quality in laboratory testing and accurate forms of analysis that improve patient outcomes. The MLT performs routine testing that provides fast, precise information for patient diagnosis and treatment. All responsibilities are carried out in accordance with the mission, vision, and strategic imperatives of Lexington Medical Center.

Qualifications
  • An associate degree from a college/university accredited by a recognized regional or national accreditation agency.
  • Successful completion of a NAACLS accredited MLT program within the last 5 years.
  • American Society of Clinical Pathologist (ASCP) Board of Certification (BOC) national exam for medical laboratory technician (MLT).

Medical Office Associate IV

Basic Functions

Assists the patients, visitors, providers and office staff in a courtesy and friendly manner. Perform all duties in an efficient and timely manner, while maintaining a positive patient flow. Direct interaction with patients. Check in, check out, verification of insurance. Data entry of patient information. Answer phones, meet and greet customers/patients, file, fax, copy.

Qualifications
  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • General knowledge of medical ethics and confidentiality.
  • One year of clerical or receptionist experience.
  • Patient registration, insurance, ICD-9 & CPT coding knowledge preferred.
  • Medical terminology preferred.
  • At least one year of clerical/receptionist experience preferably in a medical setting or six months successful experience as a Medical Office Associate III.

Physician Assistant

Basic Functions

Provides a wide spectrum of direct health care services to patients of all ages under the supervision of a licensed physician. The Physician Assistant is an extension of the physician supervisor and independently plans and carries out the general physical examination and treatment plans in accordance with medical guidelines, standards and protocols. Position utilizes knowledge of a wide variety of medical conditions/diseases and types of injuries. Will collect and record medical histories, physical exam findings, lab and x-ray results. Will perform general physical evaluations.

Qualifications
  • Approved South Carolina state licensing through a local medical licensing office and/or board of Medical Examiners.
  • Successful completion of a course of study or training approved by an accredited medical body such as CAHEA, American Medical Association, or the Association of Medical Colleges.
  • Possess advanced clinical skills and problem solving management skills.
  • Possess knowledge of prescription medications and their applications.
  • Knowledge of all laws pertaining to the prescribing and dispensing of medication.
  • Medical Terminology preferred.
  • Certified in basic life support (CPR) preferred.
  • Ability to evaluate, plan, and implement programs preferred.
  • Outpatient or physician practice experience preferred.
